Earth Hour
For our article we decided to get teachers opinions about Earth Hour . The two questions we asked are do you think Earth Hour is important and if so, why? We also asked what would they do on a Sunday afternoon with no power.
The first person we talked to was Ms. Iafrate, she thinks that it’s important because it brings awareness of the global effects due to climate change and that it shows us that by reducing electricity or power, we can actually make a difference on consumption which helps our environment. Next, I asked her what she would do on a Sunday afternoon with no power and she replied with going for a walk and taking in as much nature as she can.
The second person we talked to was Mrs. Fiorini, when we asked why she thinks it’s important, she said it helps us be more aware of the amount of electricity we use and it’s actually really easy to not use electricity for one hour. Then we asked her what she would do on a Sunday afternoon without power, she said play board games and card games etc.
Third, we talked to Mrs. Orsetto first we asked why it’s important and she said absolutely because it reminds the kids what’s important. Then, we asked her what she would do on a Sunday afternoon with no power and she replied with reading by a window.
Lastly, we talked to Mrs. Rochleau. When we asked her the first question she replied with children need to learn that the earth is important and if we teach them at school they would do it at home. Then when we asked her the second question she replied with read, knit, bike ride and play board games.
